As Store Manager you will be responsible for the financial success of the store by achieving defined sales, profitability and metric objectives, providing top level service and maintain shop appearance according to our designer and director’s aesthetic. Three to five years of experience and specific knowledge of retail and store management is required.

You will have inspiring leadership skills enabling you to coach and motivate our retail associates to consistently provide customers with an exceptional shopping experience and drive actions to help them meet sales metrics. You will also demonstrate sales leadership by playing an active role on the sales floor and managing client relationships personally. You must also have proven experience in assessing, recruiting and screening potential employees as well as nurturing and mentoring our existing team.

We are looking for someone who builds relationships with internal and external clients; has exemplary communication skills both with customers and our head office; manages an efficient back of house to ensure consistency with established operational procedures, and who can actively work with our New York based PR and stylists as well as our Sydney based PR and Marketing team to promote our company. You will be expected to attend industry events and openings on our behalf.

General Responsibilities

  • Oversees retail store operations to company standards; ensuring effective implementation and maintenance of programs as well as meeting financial and operational objectives
  • Ensures Sales, Units Per Transaction, Dollars Per Transaction, and Financial Goals are achieved
  • Maintains accurate store cash handling records, reports and opening and closing procedures
  • Reviews merchandise and inventory levels for accuracy and consistency.
  • Implements inventory procedures and inventory control program.
  • Maintains allocated budget within the store
  • Demonstrates/Sells products to customers, explaining benefits, features, prices, quality, value and other information, builds the business through outstanding customer service
  • Ensures visual standards are appropriate and support the brand image and merchandises displays to accentuate products
  • Develops information on retail customers to enhance sales; maintains customer log in ERM system

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Administers Performance Management programs
  • Participate in staffing decisions including employment, discipline, training, assignment and termination
  • Set expectations and ensures accountability
  • Ensure retail associates are trained in our sales training program and other selling techniques to maximize sales potential
  • Build a team that works well together based on the needs of the store
  • Ensure all practices meet applicable legal requirements, policies and procedures
  • Evaluate daily operations on an ongoing basis and make recommendations/initiates action to enhance productivity, efficiency, effectiveness and profitability
  • Create a selling culture in the store

 

As an ideal candidate you will have an expressive personality with a stylistically appropriate and professional manner and a sense of humour. You will also have;

  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university preferred, and three to five years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Knowledge of retail selling environment, high fashion/design/art industry
  • Effective oral and written communications, presentation skills, motivating others, and managing accountability
  • Prior sales management experience
  • Demonstrated ability to achieve individual selling goals and metrics
  • Proven ability to drive sales results, able to analyse selling reports, identify business trends and react quickly to the needs of the business
  • Comfort in making decisions and mediating conflict within a team-environment
  • Ability to address complex issues and allocate time to execute multiple tasks and changing priorities
  • Exceptional interpersonal, communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to identify/assess top talent and train/develop/retain great people
  • Proficient in windows-based software such as Excel, Word and Outlook and working knowledge of cloud-based POS systems

Physical Capabilities

  • Ability to work non-traditional hours, including days, nights, weekends and holidays

  • Possess manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination
  • This position involves constant moving, talking, hearing, reaching, grabbing and standing for long periods of time. May occasionally involve stooping, kneeling, crouching

  • Ability to work in various roles based on business needs (i.e., on the sales floor, operations, etc.)
  • Must have authorization to work in the United States without limitation.
